Experian chose to update their scores to reflect the changing commercial landscape, and the increased availability of data available to power their propriety risk score. Generation 6’s increased data points include:
What is the Commercial Credit Data Sharing
The CCDS is a government mandated data sharing program which requires all major UK banks to share Commercial Current Account data, and any other credit payments. This provides Experian with an accurate and comprehensive picture of an organisation’s cashflow and results in a 6-10% increase in discriminatory power for commercial risk assessments.
How is a Director’s Consumer Data Used?
Whilst Experian’s calculations for the Delphi Score remain proprietary, the inclusion of a Directors’ usual residential address (URA) increases their match rates by ~10%, which in turn increases the accuracy of the Delphi Score.
In addition to adding new data points, Experian have also improved the way businesses are segmented within their data, so it more accurately reflects the types of businesses operating in 2023. Each segment (e.g Small, Medium, Large etcetera) uses it’s own tailored set of data points to help ensure their score is accurate for that segment, whilst common data points allows businesses to move between segments consistently.
