Understanding the Directors tab

What is the Directors Tab used for?

An important part of the compliance or risk assessment process is understanding the people behind a business you're interested in dealing with.

DueDil's Directors tab help to make this process much easier and more reliable, helping you to uncover connections between people and companies that might otherwise have been difficult to identify.

You can reach a directors page by searching for their name as shown here. However, the most common way director pages are accessed is through the links on the 'Directors' tab.  

Once on a director page, you'll see a summary of the number of directorships they have (active, closed and retired) and their nationality, as well as some information on their age and location and any matched links to social media.

The Related Directors section shows you people who are also directors of companies the person you're looking at works with.  This provides you other directors you might want to investigate because of their connection with the person you're looking at.  

The Possible Matches widget attempts to identify any records that might relate to the same person.  Sometimes a digitisation error occurs at, or a director will use their middle name when registering with one company, and not with another.  This has the potential to leave holes in your checks where you haven't identified a section of the directors' history.

We match on first name, surname and date of birth for this widget.

Navigate to the Directorships tab of the page to see a full list of the individuals current, closed and retired directorships, along with their tenure, and a link through to the relevant company page.

The Activity tab is designed to help you find any adverse information on any of the companies associated with the director without having to check multiple sources.  It will show you any Opportunities (sales triggers) or recent risk factors associated with the companies the individual is a director with.  Sales triggers are events like a change in directorship, or a company entering it's budget window.  Risk factors are events like a change in credit score, a change in shareholding, or a disqualification.
